with “without records” by Otomo Yoshihide limited ensembles is currently shown at Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo as a part of  the exhibition Art and Music – Search for New Synesthesia.

This piece is based on Otomo’s piece without records with Yasutomo Aoyama, a sound installation with numerous old, used portable players. It has been shown in several cities – Kyoto, Sendai, Yamaguchi, Tokyo, also in NY and South Korea and always been realized in different style according to the characteristic of the spaces and collaborators.

Here, with Sachiko M, Yuko Mohri and Kanta Horio, the piece has been developed into the largest scale as ever. Filled the museum’s large atrium space with ensemble of faint or clicking noise and series of event, with “without records” culminated in an unique orchestra, and brings the audience a new experience of listening and viewing.

Golightly took part in the production management of with “without records”.

That was really fun and exciting experience to work on this, so we hope you enjoy!
